The Rt. Rev. Jacob Owensby is fourth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Louisiana. Before election in 2012, he served as Dean of St. Mark’s Cathedral, Shreveport. He's served in St. Louis, Huntsville, and Jacksonville.

​Bishop Owensby is a graduate of the School of Theology at Sewanee, ordained to the diaconate and the priesthood in the Diocese of Florida. He
 is married to Joy.

Attend

  • ​Parochial priests required to attend, unless excused by Bishop Matt.
  • Parochial deacons welcome and urged to attend.
  • Non-Parochial clergy Canonically Resident welcome and encouraged to attend.
  • Clergy Licensed to Officiate welcome and encouraged to attend.
  • Clergy not Canonically Resident or Licensed should contact Bishop Matt to discuss attendance.

ActivitY

A complete schedule is provided on arrival. ​Community worship, reflections by the Retreat Leader, prayer & meditation, Bible study, making confession and / or seeking spiritual counsel, reading, ​​eating, sleeping.

Fee

The fee to attend is $200 which includes meals and housing. A fee of $80 is charged for those not needing housing. Contractual obligations require payment for the entire retreat, even if you will attend only a portion. All other costs (facility charges, supplies, speaker) are funded through the diocesan Jane Lee Amaan Restricted fund.

Norbertine Center for Spirituality

The Norbertine Center for Spirituality is on the grounds of the St. Norbert Abbey, 1016 South Broadway, De Pere, WI 54115.
  • Housing has shared bathroom facilities.
  • Meals with the Norbertine community, except Monday evening when the bishop takes everyone out for pizza.
  • Worship with retreat participants. Please bring a Book of Common Prayer and Hymnal.
  • Bring a mask.
Enter from the Webster Avenue  entrance.  When you see sign for the Abbey, turn right into the driveway and park in the lot on your right hand side and walk toward the main entrance lobby.  If you try to enter from Riverside Drive / Broadway, a security gate will not allow you to gain access to the appropriate lot. Make sure to use Webster Avenue entrance.
