THE PROCESS OF "DISCERNMENT" OR "SPIRITUAL DIRECTION" DRAWS OUR PARTICIPATION IN GOD UP INTO CONSCIOUSNESS. IT IS MORE THAN "FEELING" THAT GOD IS CALLING US TO A CERTAIN TASK OR STATE OF LIFE. DISCERNMENT RELIES ON BRINGING OUR LIVES, CONCERNS, AND QUESTIONS INTO THE PRESENCE OF SCRIPTURE, REASON, AND PRAYER. (CIRCLES OF LIGHT, INTRODUCTION)

The Commission on Ministry has made revisions to the Circles of Light Discernment Process

 Individuals who are interested in discernment should first speak with their local priest. Then Seeker and Priest should email the Rev. Monica Burkert-Brist, COM Chair ([email protected]), identifying interest in discernment, length of time in the parish and as an Episcopalian.

Investigate Practical Pilgrimage  offered by the Rev. Chris Arnold. It is a virtual retreat based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. These exercises come out of a Roman Catholic heritage. All are welcome.
